Orange People: A Fruit Craft

My daughter asked if we could decorate pumpkins today.  It’s the second day of summer.  “I’m afraid we don’t have any pumpkins, how about oranges?!”  And that is how the orange people came to be…

Cousin Estella was visiting, so both girls got to do the craft together!  She is 18-months-old, so as you can see this is a craft even very young children can do.

Directions:

1) Glue eyes onto your oranges
2) Cut a mouth and nose with felt or paper & glue those on.
3) Add pipe cleaner for limbs & hair. We just poked ours right in!
4) Glue felt for accessories. (Head scarf, hair ribbon, etc.)

The result is some truly adorable fruit people!

Each one came out a little different.  All of them had tons of personality!

As I write this, Bella is playing on the floor with the oranges and the sheep we made yesterday.  It’s a funny, fruity household, but we like it.
