Step 1: Cut the egg carton into individual sections, then cut each section down until the end is a nice smooth edge. It’s OK – the carton will end up being pretty small! Just make sure the edges are fairly smooth, as we’ll be putting two ends together at the end of the project.

Step 2: Paint each section of egg carton and let dry. There’s no right or wrong! Paint any color, design, or add embellishments to make your bugs unique!

Step 3: Use your hot glue gun to attach a black pompom ball onto one side of the egg carton. Then glue on two small googly eyes and let dry completely.

Step 4: While you are waiting for all of the glue to dry, cut a simple “wing” or “leaf” shape (or a more creative wing shape) out of your card stock or construction paper. You can use any patterns, colors, or designs – we chose a solid bold color.
