Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox

I love books that introduce children to tough subjects in a gentle way.  When my Aunt Audrey began to experience severe memory loss, I looked for a book that would explore the subject in a way a young child could comprehend.  A friend recommended Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox.

Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge is a small boy with a big name… and an even bigger heart.  He befriends all the people who live in a retirement home located next door to his house.  He loves each of the residents with their wonderful quirks.  His best friend is Miss Nancy who has lost her memory, and Wilfred comes up with an idea to help her find it.

This charming book will make a sensitive mom weep. (Guilty.)  My daughter loves me to read it over and over again, never tiring of the sweetness within its pages.  We both highly recommend this beautiful book.
